Pritam Singh, his children and grandchildren live in London. Living in the UK for over 50 years has changed little for the grand old Pritam Singh who remains inseparably connected with his motherland, India. His wistfulness to return - either in thought or in person - to his homeland often turns into a melancholy desire that further culminates into the values that his children and grandchildren have imbibed.
Parminder - affectionately nicknamed Pammi - is the ideal grandchild. Deeply religious and tethered to Indian traditions and values, Pammi comes of age and is engaged to Rohan, a London-based doctor. During a visit to India, Pammi falls in love with the charming Dev. Tortured and tormented by the pangs of love, Pammi decides to go against the will of her family and declares that Dev is the one she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Dev, on the other hand, decides to go to London in search of his lady love. Transgressing the shorelines, their love blossoms into an obsessive longing to be together forever… But is their love strong enough to break through the unseen barriers of tradition and values?

No sooner than she realizes that she is in love, she also stumbles upon the harsh reality that she is already engaged and confesses the same to Dev.

Upon Bee-ji’s suggestion, Preet asks her step-father to sign a legal paper declining his right on her mother’s property. Dev talks to Teji in an effort to make her understand their love, but in vain.
Pammi’s weakness for her family’s happiness overshadows her love for Dev and she decides to go ahead with her marriage preparations and tells Dev the same. Raj and Teji are worried about Sam. While breaking the 'karva chauth' fast, Pammi chances upon Dev’s face.

Simran’s sister-in-law Anu’s marriage gets fixed with Dev. Pritam Singh and Bee-ji start doubting Rohan’s character due to some incidents that occur. While Rohan is keen on getting married, Pammi’s family starts avoiding the situation. Rohan is speechless when Teji questions him about the girl in his room.
