Kehta Hai Dil

'Kehta Hai Dil' is set in the small town of Anand Nagar where most people know each other. The entire population is like one extended family and everyone’s mission here is to do a good deed everyday. Largely, however, it is the story of Karishma and how the dramatic events that occur in her life affect her entire family.

Aditya Pratap Singh (Aman Verma) is an able superintendent of police who lives happily with his gynaecologist wife Jaya (Gautami Gadgil) and their three children viz. Karishma, Kunal and Kiran. The family, by virtue of Verma's profession, is the hub of activity and information. Karishma, a young college-going girl, is in love with Dhruv, but her family disapproves of their alliance because they feel she is too young. Aditya has an arch-enemy in the town's mayor. The mayor's wife is the mastermind behind all evil that takes place in Anand Nagar. She grabs the opportunity to use Karishma as a forfeit in her war against Aditya. And towards this end, she takes her son Nikhil's help. What happens next?
