Yet another delightful serial from the Zee bouquet, we proudly present to you ‘Maayka - Saath Zindagi Bhar Ka...’ - a show that strung the right note in the heart of every woman who watches it. Set in a Punjabi background, this story revolves around the life of Indian women post-marriage. The story of 'Maayka', which means the maternal home, revolves around the lives of three daughters of a household. A woman leaves her ‘maayka’ after marriage to go to her new home, but the bitter-sweet memories of her previous home never leave her. The whole world may turn upside down, but she can draw strength from her ‘maayka’ to overcome her trials and tribulations. However, if things go awry in ‘maayka’, then even her affluent, peaceful marital life fails to give her tranquility and she remains distressed.
Shabd refuses to allow Mahi to call her parents for the party. According to him, her family is not capable of mixing with his friends. Shabd drinks heavily and even asks Mahi to drink. Raji, Veer and Jeet along with Soni feel unhappy about the whole party as Shabd gets into a scuffle with his friends. A girl even professes her love for Shabd and dares him to kiss her. The next day Mahi goes to her parents’ home as per the custom and awaits Shabd to take her back. Mahi calls up Shabd but he is out of reach.
Daima tells Shabd that Mahi has gone home for a few hours. Daima asks him to go and bring her back as per the ritual. Will Shabd go? Veena delivers a healthy baby girl. Veena honors Raji by giving her the baby to hold. Durga feels jealous. In spite of calling Shabd countless times Mahi is unable to get to speak with him. Will he come to pick her up as per tradition?
Veena is upset that none of her in-laws have turned up to see her daughter. Is it because she delivered a baby girl? Veena desperately misses her husband Raman. Shabd does not turn up to take back Mahi and her parents are worried. Vrij decides to take back Mahi to her in-laws home. Shabd opens the door and Vrij is pained to see Shabd drunk and speaking incomprehensibly.
